Franz Gerhardy sen. - from Hamburg, founding father and captain of our company for many years - was born with the discoverer gene: At just 20 years of age, the trained merchant went to New York City at the beginning of the 1960s and, after a stopover in Bangkok, dropped anchor in Mexico City in 1965, where he gained his first experience in API trading. Today we navigate then with you into and through your markets with over 50 years of API expertise. Principally, and especially in Mexico.
The discoverer becomes the doer: While still in Mexico, Franz Sr. founded his first companies in the 1970s before returning to Hamburg at the end of the decade - to celebrate the next foundation here. All companies have one thing in common: the doing business with pharmaceutical products. This wealth of experience ultimately flowed into the establishment of the family business whose website you are currently visiting: MPI Pharmaceutica GmbH.
As early as 1985, the year the company was founded, Franz Gerhardy Sr. developed our own brand masculan® and started a success story that continues to this day. Shortly afterwards, MPI launched the first finished drug product (FDF) on the market. Further diversification steps in the service and product portfolio quickly followed. And there is something else that has expanded since MPI was founded: the radius of our actions and trade. While API sales were initially concentrated on the Mexican market, they now extended to the whole of Latin America. One thing has always remained the same: our focus on the highest quality.
Since Franz Sr. handed over the helm, his sons Franz Jr. and Sebastian have been steering the company as owners and managing directors. They contributed legal (Franz Jr.) and economic (Sebastian) expertise, which they had trained in various stations in Europe and America. And they brought a breath of fresh air to our development - for example, with the establishment of our locations Mexico, Columbia and Brazil. Or when it comes to keeping our services up-to-date and our products state-of-the-art. For you ... and our growing number of satisfied customers for almost 40 years.
